First attempt at French croissants!

This weekend my little kitchen was transported to France, with the sweet and buttery smell of French croissants. Croissants are a bake I have always wanted to try, but dismissed because I have assumed they are very challenging and my self-doubt creeps in to remind myself that perhaps this bake was too much for me handle. Yes croissants are timing consuming (two days!), and yes very fiddly but oh my the end result was completely worth it. I wish I had tried to bake them sooner!

Restaurant Review - The Tilbury

The Tilbury is nestled in the picturesque village of Datchworth in Hertfordshire. Surrounded by countryside and accompanied by plentiful parking, first impressions were good. Owned by brothers James and Tom Bainbridge, The Tilbury boasts classic British food with innovative twists and composed of promised fresh, high quality ingredients. My fiance, future parents in law and I decided to visit Saturday evening to indulge in the A La Carte menu, and were certainly not disappointed. The Tilbury has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes, in the AA Pub Guide and Michelin Guide in 2015, 2016 and 2017 so we knew the food would be particularly special.

2017 Reflection

Happy New Year to you all! I hope your festive break was as relaxed as mine, and you feel refreshed and motivated to boss 2018. Like many people, the New Year is a time to look back, assess and strive to succeed. I always think it is a good idea, to reflect on all the memorable exciting events of the previous year. Sometimes I battle with myself that I haven't done enough or should do more but when I truly reflect on 2017, I am happy with my accomplishments. Here is a list of what made my 2017.
